The Two Outsiders In Podcast
We are Shachar and Liisa, a Jewish Israeli and a Finnish Christian, both living with our (separate) families in Budapest, Hungary. We are close friends who found each other through music, but bonded over the love of Israel. We are here to talk about life, faith, family and future hope as outsiders in Hungary but also in the world. From our personalities to our passions, we’re laying the foundation and bringing you into our world. And we don't always agree about everything.
Whether you’re here for stories, insight, or just good vibes, we’re so excited to have you with us.
Let’s begin this journey—together.

Is it just the things we do, or is it also the thoughts we carry?
Which carries more weight?
Today we are talking about this and going very deep into it. Sharing honestly the sinful thoughts that we have. How do we deal with them? Is there a specific way God would want us to deal with them?
And if sinful thoughts are a sin, is there a way God deals with that?

Join us on this passionate, at times even heated, conversation about God's interference. Shachar has a huge issue on - what he himself calls - selective grace.
Why is God rescuing some people but not all?
This time Liisa is challenging him on that: Should God interfere? How and when exactly? Where should He draw the line? How can He interfere but also give us free will at the same time?
Listen and find out if they can find any common ground.

What is a good father?
How can a good father love deeply but also set healthy boundaries?
Shachar recently became a father of two as he and his wife welcomed a baby girl into their family. They already have a son, but now Shachar's in front of a new kind of a challenge.
Shachar shares what he has learned about being a father so far, and his aspirations of raising his children to become good people. Especially How he's teaching his little boy to become a good man.
Liisa is in a different phase as a parent as her children are leaving the nest.
How hard is it to let them go?
And then comes the most important question of all:
Could there be a parallel in all of this on how God sees us, deals with us and love us?

We do not claim to be doctors, but we do have thoughts on the modern “plague” of depression and anxiety. As two human beings, both of us have walked that path ourselves, so this time we’re sharing our deeper thoughts about the matter as well as our personal stories of what we ourselves have experienced.
Our goal is to find some practical tools for listeners who might -just like us- struggle with depressing thoughts.
Obviously Liisa is also going to share some light on what the Scripture is saying about the subject.
Join us for an honest, lively conversation that tackles a dark subject with hope, humor, and real talk.

Last time we got into a deep discussion about God's grace, and how inclusive/exclusive it is. We left off with a cliffhanger of Shachar asking Liisa's opinion about sin and if every sin truly could be redeemed. And if so, how and why, and how fair is it? We are no theologians here, in this episode Liisa is simply sharing her view of the matter. And with her new Bible in her hands, basing her answers on the scripture.
Join us for another interesting and candid conversation, where - once again - we're keeping it real!
